2023 24 Oklahoma City Thunder Season Preview

2023-24 Oklahoma City Thunder Season Preview

After finishing 10th in the Western Conference last season, the Oklahoma City Thunder are looking to make a jump in the standings this year.

Led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder have a young and talented roster that is ready to take the next step.

The Thunder finished 40-42 last season, which was good for 10th place in the Western Conference. It was a disappointing finish for a team that had high hopes entering the season. However, the Thunder showed a lot of promise, and they are hoping to build on that this year.

One of the biggest reasons for optimism is the emergence of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The 24-year-old guard averaged 24.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game last season. He is one of the most exciting young players in the NBA, and he is poised to have a breakout season this year.

The Thunder also have a number of other talented players, including Josh Giddey, Chet Holmgren, and Jalen Williams. Giddey is a 6'8" point guard who averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game last season. Holmgren is a 7'1" center who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Williams is a 6'6" wing who averaged 11.4 points per game last season.

With a young and talented roster, the Thunder have the potential to be a playoff team this season. They will need to stay healthy and develop some chemistry, but they have the pieces in place to be successful.
